Shiken was founded in 1981 as a developer and maker of oral care goods.
We have conducted joint research with many universities and research institutes to accumulate and publish data on SOLADEY’s plaque removal rate, removal speed, and inhibition of reattachment of plaque. We apply these test data to product development. In other words, we commercialize only those products that are effective.

How Soladey5 Works
- When light strikes the solar panel, electrons e- are created. These electrons e- proceed from the minus pole toward the semiconductor along the lead wire.
- When light strikes the moistened semiconductor, electrons e- are created (photocatalytic action) . Together with the electrons e- created in [1] , these electrons e- move into the inside of the mouth via moisture such as saliva.
- These double electrons e- remove the hydrogen ion H+ in plaque, making it unstable.
- As a result, plaque is easier to remove, and brushing has a greater effect on achieving healthy teeth.
